The Gulf Coast Association of Creative Writing Teachers is an orgnization founded by teachers of Creative Writing. Specifically, the organization was established in order to create a forum where teachers of Creative Writing could discuss relevant issues concerning the teaching of Creative Writing.

Our conference strives to be more egalitarian than many other conferences. If you want in, you're in. We won't judge your work beforehand (unless you enter the student contest). Because of our approach, we get a wildly diverse group--from professional writers to program directors; from professors and instructors to grad students and undergrads. It's awesome the array and level of talent you'll hear at this conference.

So, if you're interested: go to the website and register; then, go to the reading schedule and choose a date and time you'd like to read. We'll try to meet everyone's requests, but it's not always practical. Finally, we'll schedule you on a panel (with readers from other places; we try to mix it up--it's more exciting that way)! Later, we'll email all participants the 2008 completed schedule.
